American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) 2012 Conference Anchorage, AK

AISES National Conference provides a superior opportunity for institutional visibility and engagement. Among the many events and activities at National Conference are more than 50 learning sessions organized into “tracks” targeting the interests of our participants, the largest career fair in Indian Country, and unique sharing of traditional Native culture. Native people are adept at change. We are adapt-able. Certainly, traditional knowledge holds some keys to possible solutions to our global environmental threats. AISES invites you to embark on a vital shared discourse around these crucial topics:What is the role that our rich Native traditions and strong STEM talent can and must play in addressing “adapt-ability” issues?; Where do we need to exert our innovation, influence, and industry?; How can we leverage our formidable brain-trust – students, professionals, and educators – to gain a place at the table and help mitigate these 21st century global imperatives?; What convergence of politics and place can we, as Native people, help engender?; and What is the message and inspiration we can pass along to the next generation, who will be both living with the ramifications of today’s decisions and formulating tomorrow’s answers?
