Las Vegas Nanomanufacturing Workshop
Description
You and your colleagues are invited to participate in a professional development workshop in January, 2009. This workshop will prepare participants as field test instructors to deliver nanomanufacturing modules developed by the NaMCATE project during the spring 2009 semester. The NaMCATE project is developing benchmarks for nanomanufacturing as well as eleven nanomanufacturing curriculum modules for the community college level. Attached please find an announcement about the workshop.
Field test training occurs on January 7-9, 2009 at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas. Field-testing involves delivering two or more of the NaMCATE modules to community college students and also providing evaluation data garnered during the spring 2009 semester test period. Web-based instructor and student resources, including topic narratives, assessment tools, and laboratory activities support each module. Participating instructors will be reimbursed for three-nights at South Point Hotel, up to $600 for travel expenses and paid a stipend of $800.
